A Spectacular Veterans Day Musical Event

With Veterans Day fast approaching, VetsFirst would like to bring to your attention to a dedicated group of VA caregivers and musicians in celebration of our nation’s veterans and the spirit of peace among nations.

As in years past, the VA National Medical Musical Group (NMMG) Symphony and Chorale will be hosting its National Veterans Day Celebration Concert at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Wahington, D.C., Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 7:30 pm. The program will celebrate America’s veterans and members of the armed forces, salute our wounded warriors, honor the memory of our fallen and spotlight the need to keep the flame alive for our MIAs and POWs.

The NMMG is comprised of VA doctors, nurses and other clinicians who are also talented musicians and vocalists. The concert, which has attracted thousands in the past, will be taped for a later national broadcast. Members of Congress and the Executive Branch, the media, television and motion picture personalities, ambassadors and diplomats from more than 40 countries, members of the armed forces and disabled veterans are scheduled to participate in this evening of inspirational music and readings.

The Veterans Day concert is part of a twin series and will be followed by a Remembrance Day Concert at the Central Hall Westminster, in London, England, on November 11. 2009. Admission to both concerts is free and all are welcome.

Additional Information about the concert and the NMMG is available at www.vetday.org.
